AI Users in Switzerland are More Productive Than Their Peers, Data Shows

Artificial intelligence (AI) is changing the way people work in many countries. A new Microsoft report shows that workers in Switzerland are getting more value from AI than workers in many other parts of the world. The findings suggest that Swiss AI users are becoming more productive and are using the technology to complete work that was not possible just one year ago.

According to Microsoft’s 2026 Work Trend Index, 65 percent of AI users in Switzerland say they can now produce analytical and creative work that they could not have completed a year earlier. This is higher than the global average of 58 percent. The report is based on a survey of 20,000 AI users in 10 countries, together with trillions of anonymous Microsoft 365 productivity signals.

The report also highlights a group known as Frontier Professionals. These are employees who work in organizations that have fully integrated AI into their daily operations. Instead of simply providing AI tools, these companies redesign their workflows so that people and AI work together. Among these professionals, 83 percent say AI has helped them achieve work that was previously beyond their ability.

Despite these strong results, the report points to one major challenge. Only 24 percent of Swiss AI users believe their company leaders have a clear and consistent AI strategy. In addition, nearly half of the workers surveyed say they feel it is safer to focus on current goals rather than change existing work processes. This shows that many organizations still need stronger leadership and clearer direction to unlock AI’s full potential.

The study also makes it clear that AI is not replacing human thinking. Most Swiss workers continue to use their own judgment when working with AI. About 84 percent say they treat AI-generated answers as a starting point instead of accepting them as the final result. Many employees also believe that checking AI’s work for accuracy and using critical thinking are among the most important skills in today’s workplace.

Microsoft believes that companies will benefit the most if they move beyond small AI experiments. The report recommends three important changes. Organizations should expand AI from individual use to company-wide adoption, build shared AI skills across teams, and embed AI agents into everyday business workflows. These steps can help employees work more efficiently while allowing them to focus on tasks that require creativity, problem-solving, and decision-making.

It would be interesting to pick the brains of executives at firms like Core AI Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: CHAI) to get their views on how AI has transformed their workflows in the years that they have used this technology within their industry.
