Gallup Poll Reveals How Americans Leverage AI at Workplaces

Artificial intelligence is becoming a normal part of daily work for many Americans, according to a new Gallup Workforce poll. The survey shows that AI is no longer a future idea or a tool used by only a few experts. Instead, it is quickly shaping how people across different industries do their jobs.

The Gallup poll, conducted among more than 22,000 employed adults in the United States, found that about 12 percent of workers now use AI tools every day at work. Around one quarter use AI several times a week, while nearly half use it at least a few times each year. This is a major jump compared to 2023 when far fewer workers reported using AI. The rise is closely linked to the popularity of easy-to-use tools like ChatGPT, which can write emails, summarize documents, help with coding, and answer questions.

AI use is highest in technology-related jobs. Many workers in this sector rely on AI daily to improve speed and accuracy. Finance is another field where AI use is growing fast, especially for reviewing large documents, organizing data, and handling routine tasks. In education and professional services, AI is used more occasionally, often to improve communication, organize information, or support creative work.

The poll also highlights how people of different ages and backgrounds are using AI. Some older workers use AI to fill knowledge gaps and serve customers better, while younger professionals use it to manage heavy workloads. In most cases, AI acts as a helper rather than a replacement, supporting workers instead of taking over their roles.

Most employees who use AI rely on chatbots or virtual assistants. Others use AI to generate ideas, learn new things, or combine information from different sources. Governments and companies are encouraging AI adoption, hoping it will increase productivity and justify large investments in AI technology.

However, experts note that AI’s impact is not the same for everyone. Workers in highly skilled, computer-based jobs tend to adapt more easily. On the other hand, millions of workers in administrative and clerical roles may face greater challenges if parts of their work become automated, especially those with fewer transferable skills and limited financial security.

Despite these concerns, most Americans are not deeply worried about losing their jobs to AI. Many believe that human skills such as communication, judgment, and empathy remain essential. AI use is still lower in service-based jobs like retail, healthcare, and manufacturing, where personal interaction plays a key role.

Overall, the Gallup poll shows that AI is becoming a regular workplace tool, helping many Americans work smarter while raising important questions about the future of work. As companies like Core AI Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: CHAI) bring their offerings even closer to more people, AI will become an everyday technology that filters into nearly every aspect of life.
